Melodic lines and free improvisation

Founded in 2025, the Alexander Wittges Trio combines melodic clarity with dynamic interaction. The central focus is the piano playing of Alexander Wittges, which merges lyrical passages, precise rhythmic patterns, and open spaces for improvisation. The bass and drums provide a flexible foundation, allowing each musical impulse to resonate immediately.

Jazz standards meet original compositions

The program features well-known jazz standards and original pieces by Alexander Wittges. The small ensemble allows for a transparent orchestration, fine synchronization, and surprising twists in the sound. With Claus Koch on saxophone, the concert receives additional tonal colors and a distinctive solo voice.
