Play and Chance: European Contemporary Art at Schafhof Freising
The exhibition Artists in Motion: Play and Chance brings together seven artistic positions from Belgium, Germany, France, Italy, and Scotland. At Schafhof – European Art Forum Upper Bavaria, an international dialogue unfolds about movement, uncertainty, perception, and the creative power of chance.
A European Art Dialogue in Diverse Media
The organization Artists in Motion promotes interdisciplinary collaboration among artists from Europe. For the annual theme Play and Chance, works were created or selected that relate different cultural perspectives. The exhibition includes painting, printmaking, photography, video, sculpture, interactive installations, and conceptual art.
When Chance Becomes an Artistic Method
The works on display offer an aesthetic experience between planning and openness. Colors, forms, photographic excerpts, moving images, and material surfaces make visible how new image ideas arise from unpredictability. In the examination of the works, intuitive decisions, conceptual processes, and playful strategies encounter each other.
Exhibition Atmosphere in the Historic Schafhof
The Schafhof is situated on a hill on the outskirts of Freising, combining historic architecture with contemporary art. The exhibition spaces create a dynamic setting for the international showcase; the special spatial effect directs attention to the relationships between object, light, material, and environment. The art forum also sees itself as a place for the communication of European culture, exchange, and cultural education.
Art as Encounter and Cultural Education
Artists in Motion makes European diversity experienced sensually. The exhibition invites visitors to question familiar concepts of control, order, and artistic authorship. It is particularly impressive how different art forms and media develop an open, stimulating dialogue around a common theme.
Conclusion: Discover Contemporary Art Live
Visitors can expect a multifaceted artistic experience between painting, photography, video, sculpture, installation, and conceptual art. The aesthetic experience, the materiality of the works, and the exhibition atmosphere reveal themselves particularly intensely in immediate encounter. Those who want to experience how play and chance become drivers of European contemporary art should definitely visit this exhibition at Schafhof Freising live.
