Between Spaces: Contemporary Art in the Old Prison Freising

The annual exhibition of the Kunstverein Freisinger Mohr e. V. invites you to the Old Prison Freising on October 15, 2026. Under the title Between Spaces, different artistic positions come together in a historic exhibition venue, whose special spatial effect shapes the viewing of the works.

Art Between History and Present

The Old Prison gives the exhibition a tense atmosphere: Where once boundaries and enclosure characterized the space, painting, graphics, photography, sculpture, and installation open new perspectives. The historical architecture creates a resonance space for contemporary art and makes Between Spaces not only a theme of the exhibition but also an immediate aesthetic experience.

Diversity of Artistic Positions

The Kunstverein Freisinger Mohr sees its annual exhibition as a forum for artists from the region. The presentation showcases the range of individual working methods and makes visible how differently color, form, material, and composition connect to form independent visual worlds. The juxtaposition of various media allows for an open, comparative viewing of works.

An Art Experience for Curious Visitors

The exhibition title refers to those transitions where perception becomes particularly attentive: between indoor and outdoor, proximity and distance, representational and abstraction. It is precisely the concentrated exhibition atmosphere of the Old Prison that creates moments of calm in which visual impressions unfold and individual interpretations emerge.

Cultural Education Through Direct Encounter

The exhibition offers the opportunity to experience contemporary art without fear of thresholds and to get to know different artistic attitudes. For art enthusiasts, it provides a clear access to questions of curation, materiality, and the impact of art in space. The annual exhibition thereby strengthens the exchange within the Freising art scene.

Conclusion: Experience Between Spaces Live

Visitors can expect a versatile art experience rooted in the region, historical spatial impact, and contemporary artistic impulses. Those who wish to discover painting, sculpture, photography, and experimental image forms in a special atmosphere should definitely attend the annual exhibition Between Spaces at the Old Prison Freising live.
