See Freising through personal eyes: Photographs about places of well-being

Where do people find peace, strength, and new energy? The exhibition I'm doing well here! presents the best submissions of the photo competition of vhs Freising and focuses on personal sources of strength in the city. From October 16 to November 19, 2026, the photographs will be displayed on the screen in front of the vhs building at Kammergasse 12.

Photography as an expression of health and well-being

The exhibition combines photography, cultural education, and the sustainability goal of health and well-being. The submitted images show how differently an aesthetic experience can arise in everyday life: by the Isar, in green retreats, in private gardens, or in the familiar cityscape of Freising.

Isar, nature, and urban architecture in photographic dialogue

Many photographs focus on the Isar and its banks. Water, light, and vegetation appear as visual sources of strength. Other works explore the beauty of urban architecture or highlight quiet details that are easily overlooked in everyday life. Through perspective, framing, and atmosphere, familiar places gain new significance.

Award-winning images and individual perspectives

First prize went to Christa Hutflesz for her view from the Domberg onto the city. Stephan Wittmann impressed with a glimpse into a personal garden paradise, Manfred Gerber with the portrait of a Süntel beech on Schlangenweg. Sebastian Beier captures water as a source of life. Christine Moratz and Josef Westermeier share the fourth place with a special badminton game.

The presentation is complemented by photographs from Brigitte Hensel, Monika Kleber, Hugo Fritzsch, Isabelle Mansouri, and Rajath Vaidhish. Thus, a multifaceted exhibition arises, where personal perception, local connection, and photographic design come together.

Art in public space

The exhibition atmosphere does not occur in a classic gallery space, but in the public space in front of the vhs building. The digital screen makes the works visible in the city’s everyday life and invites visitors to walk familiar paths with a more attentive gaze. Colors, shapes, light, and spatial effects become points of connection for an immediate encounter with the artwork.

Conclusion: An art experience about the good places in life

I'm doing well here! makes visible what people associate with health, well-being, and home. The exhibition opens up an inspiring aesthetic experience and shows Freising from personal, poetic, and photographic perspectives. Anyone who appreciates local photography, cultural education, and special views of everyday life should discover this exhibition live in the urban space.
