Discover Freising through the lens of well-being

Where do people in Freising find peace, strength, and personal freedom? The exhibition I'm doing well here! presents the best photographs from the eponymous competition of vhs Freising and makes visible how differently health and well-being are experienced. From October 16 to November 19, 2026, the works will be on display on the screen in front of the vhs building at Kammergasse 12.

Photography as an expression of personal sources of strength

The photographic works focus on places where people can take a breath, gain new energy, and be fully themselves. vhs Freising connects the project to the United Nations' sustainability goal of health and well-being. Individual perceptions create a multifaceted contribution to cultural education.

Isar, nature, and urban landscape in dialogue

Many submissions are dedicated to the Isar and its banks. Water, green spaces, and quiet landscapes appear as visual sources of strength: calm, profound, and full of life. The architecture of Freising also gains a new aesthetic presence through conscious perspectives, lighting, and framing.

Award-winning photographic perspectives

The first prize was awarded to Christa Hutflesz for her view from the Domberg onto the city. Stephan Wittmann impressed with a glimpse into a personal garden paradise, and Manfred Gerber with the portrait of a Süntel beech on Schlangenweg. Other awarded works come from Sebastian Beier, Christine Moratz, and Josef Westermeier. The presentation is complemented by photographs from Brigitte Hensel, Monika Kleber, Hugo Fritzsch, Isabelle Mansouri, and Rajath Vaidhish.

Artwork reflection in public space

The exhibition opens up immediate artwork reflection outside the classic museum space. Colors, shapes, light, perspective, and spatial effect relate to everyday life in front of the vhs building. This special exhibition atmosphere creates a low-threshold art experience and invites visitors to perceive familiar places with a new perspective.

Conclusion: An aesthetic experience with local relevance

I'm doing well here! shows how closely photography, memory, nature perception, and personal quality of life are interconnected. Art enthusiasts encounter a sensitive photographic record of Freising and may rediscover their own places of strength. A visit enriches cultural education and provides an inspiring aesthetic experience in the urban space.
