I'm Feeling Good Here! Discover Freising through Photographic Eyes

Where do people in Freising find peace, strength, and new energy? The exhibition I'm Feeling Good Here! presents the best submissions from the vhs Freising photo contest and focuses on the personal perception of health and well-being. From October 16 to November 19, 2026, the photographs will be displayed on the screen in front of the vhs building at Kammergasse 12.

Photography as an Expression of Well-Being

The exhibition connects photography, cultural education, and the United Nations' sustainability goal of health and well-being. The submitted images show the diverse ways personal sources of strength can appear: as a quiet natural space, a familiar retreat, or a unique perspective on one's own city.

Isar, Nature, and Urban Architecture in Dialogue

Many photographs focus on the Isar and its banks. Water, green spaces, and quiet landscapes appear as visual sources of strength, characterized by light, color, and atmospheric depth. The architecture of Freising also gains a new aesthetic presence through deliberate perspectives and precise image crops.

Awarded Photographic Perspectives

The first prize was awarded to Christa Hutflesz for her view from Domberg over the city. Stephan Wittmann showcases a personal garden paradise, while Manfred Gerber centers the portrait of a Süntel beech at the Schlangenweg. Other awarded works come from Sebastian Beier, Christine Moratz, and Josef Westermeier. The presentation is complemented by photographs from Brigitte Hensel, Monika Kleber, Hugo Fritzsch, Isabelle Mansouri, and Rajath Vaidhish.

Art Observation in Public Space

The exhibition atmosphere is not created in a closed museum space but in the public space in front of the vhs building. The digital screen makes the works visible in everyday life and invites immediate art observation. Colors, shapes, light, and spatial effects relate to familiar paths and open up a new view of Freising.

Conclusion: An Artistic Experience of the Good Places in Life

I'm Feeling Good Here! makes visible how closely photography, memory, nature perception, and quality of life are connected. Art enthusiasts experience a polyphonic photographic inventory of Freising and may discover familiar places anew. The exhibition promises an inspiring aesthetic experience and enriches cultural education in the urban space. A visit is worthwhile for everyone who wants to experience local photography and unique everyday views live.
