MAOTIK: Random Blooms – When Motion Makes Digital Flowers Sound
At Schafhof – European Art Forum Upper Bavaria, art, science, and technology converge in the interactive installation Bloom by French digital artist MAOTIK, whose real name is Mathieu Le Sourd. The exhibition Random Blooms invites visitors to not only observe digital art but to participate in its creation through their own movement.
An Installation that Responds to its Audience
At its core is an immersive audiovisual environment that captures the movements and gestures of the audience using Lidar technology. Hand movements produce glowing digital flowers, abstract shapes, and changing sound compositions. Each interaction alters the visual and auditory architecture anew.
Between Chance, Technology, and Aesthetic Experience
Bloom is understood as a parametric approach at the intersection of installation, media art, and experimental sound art. Chance is utilized not as a disturbance but as a creative principle.
