Christmas Magic at Picture Book Cinema in Freising
When the Christmas preparations begin at the zoo, it becomes turbulent, funny, and heartwarming: On Tuesday, December 1, 2026, the city library of Freising invites children from three years old to a cozy reading session. The focus is on the picture book cinema The Big Christmas Celebration at the Zoo, where the story will be read aloud and the colorful illustrations appear large on a screen.
A Surprising Animal Elf Round
The zoo animals want to exchange gifts and are looking for the perfect presents. Ignaz Peppermint Hedgehog, Director Ungestüm, and their animal friends get into a wonderfully funny gift muddle. Each animal wants to make another happy, but not every gift fits right away. Thus, a heartwarming Christmas story about sharing, giving, and celebrating together unfolds.
Reading, Pictures, and Children's Laughter
The picture book cinema combines the familiar closeness of reading with the wonder of large images. Children can attentively follow the plot, recognize characters, and develop their own thoughts about the story. The approximately 30-minute event is age-appropriate for children from three years old and offers a child-friendly learning experience around language, emotions, community, and imagination.
Educationally Valuable Family Time
Reading together supports language development, expands vocabulary, and strengthens the joy of books. The story also encourages discussions about wishes, sharing, and consideration for others. This makes the reading session a small family experience filled with learning fun, curiosity, and the excitement of Christmas.
Well Prepared for the City Library
The reading session takes place from 3:30 PM to 4:00 PM in the city library of Freising. Admission is free and registration is not required. Parents are asked to stay in the library's premises during the reading time and accompany their children. This rule ensures a familiar environment and supports a calm, safe event experience for the young guests.
Conclusion: Families can expect a lovingly designed picture book cinema with large illustrations, a humorous animal story, and valuable impulses for togetherness. Those who want to give their child a short, free break full of children's laughter, wonder, and Christmas spirit will experience special magic during family time at the city library of Freising.
