In quiet remembrance together in the Mariendom
A service connects memory, prayer, and community. On Sunday, November 8, 2026, the Historical Association Freising invites you to commemorate its deceased members and supporters in the historical Mariendom.
Prayer and remembrance in the Freising Cathedral
The focus is on dignified remembrance of the people who have accompanied, shaped, and supported the Historical Association. The liturgical celebration creates a space for reflection, gratitude, and personal participation. In the ancient walls of the Mariendom, a quiet spiritual atmosphere emerges, connecting the past and present.
Spiritual life and city history
The service brings together religious tradition and the city history of Freising. Since its founding in 1890, the Historical Association Freising has dedicated itself to researching, preserving, and conveying the city's cultural heritage. The shared remembrance makes visible how closely club life, civic spirit, and Christian faith practice are intertwined in Freising.
A special place of faith
The Mariendom on the Freising Domberg provides an impressive setting for this religious experience. The cathedral is considered the focal point of the Domberg, where the history of the present Archdiocese of Munich and Freising finds its visible expression. Architecture, liturgy, and prayer create a place of inner contemplation and communal comfort.
