... (Continued from Lysann Pfüller's review) ... We got stuck in a bit of a fuss and lined up at the merchandise stand just to get the color packets. All in all, this took over an hour and a half. We missed the first of five color throws because, among other things, the schedule for the events was different on-site than what was listed on the organizer's website (it actually started earlier). All the back and forth on-site set us back so much that it was already 3:30 PM. While waiting in the next line for drinks, I frantically searched online for premium Holi packages on every possible sales platform and finally found one on reserfix where the details listed everything included in the premium package. Armed with this information, I went back to the same woman, who again very kindly arranged everything so we could get the items we were owed. After another 20-30 minute wait, our fan package was finally complete. (She added, "It's good that you finally found this online.") General: The event advertises itself as an EDM event, which is ridiculous. What the DJs played is standard radio fare and covers everything from pop to hip-hop and rock. The musical acts counted down 3, 2, 1... to throw the powder completely off schedule, resulting in one-third of the attendees throwing the powder earlier than the remaining two-thirds. The powder is in plastic bags, which every attendee simply drops when empty. These days, paper bags would suffice. To make matters worse, at the end of the event, the helpers/organizers/service team collected these thousands of bags by hand to clean the area. I was speechless when I saw this 🫣. Payment on-site was only possible with a prepaid card. The remaining balance at the end of the festival could be cashed out after a fee or transferred to your bank account free of charge, which could take up to six weeks. We opted for the latter. The process involved scanning a QR code, providing personal information, etc. At the end of the process, the system crashed and couldn't be restarted because it displayed a message that the voucher had already been redeemed. I thought, great, now the remaining money is gone too. Four weeks after the promotion, the money finally arrived in my account. The average age of attendees was between 18 and 23. Our conclusion: Never again. The organizing team was incompetent; steer clear of this event.

Please note: I'm reviewing the Holi Festival 2021-2023 and its organizers, not the festival site itself! If there were zero stars to give, I would. I don't even know where to start. Everything went wrong. Holi tickets purchased on-site in Schwabach at an Eventim shop for 2021, the venue was Munich Airport Riem on a Saturday in August (perfect for traveling by public transport and for my overnight stay). Tickets were still being sold online on the Holi website until one week before the event. Already available online at Eventim - the date is postponed. Email to the organizer: is it true, is it taking place or not? No response. Then, two days before the event, Eventim already showed that the event was canceled, but tickets were no longer available to purchase on the Holi website. One day before the event, there was finally a notice there too, saying it was canceled due to the coronavirus. We received an email response one week after the actual event date, stating that tickets can be redeemed for other cities or kept until 2022 and used again for the same venue. This news was initially reassuring. We wanted to see when Riem Airport in Munich would take place in 2022. The venue didn't appear at all. For the Munich area, Freising was suddenly the only option. Since we didn't want to let the ticket expire, we were prepared for it. A few weeks before the event, we happened to check to see if everything was as before and were shocked to discover that the date had been moved forward by almost two months, and to a Sunday no less. We contacted the organizer again by email. We were unable to make the date due to vacation, and why was it moved forward in the first place? We want our money back. We waited two weeks for a response: No refunds. We either choose a different city or postpone it for another year, or we were out of luck. Since we purchased two premium packages for 2021 for just under €100 (ticket, festival wristband, 5 paint bags, fan t-shirt, advance booking + fees), we didn't want to waste our money, so we waited a good year. In 2023, we finally checked the Holi homepage every week to see when the date for the Munich area was and watched weekly to see if it stayed that way. We ended up in Freising in June, on a Saturday. I wrote emails about the luggage storage options (since you weren't allowed to take anything with you except an A4-sized sports bag, and I was traveling from Plauen as an overnight guest), but there was no response for weeks. After asking twice, the answer was there's no way 😓. (Mobile lockers would be desirable.) So I packed as spartanly as possible so that everything would fit into one of those stupid sports bags, which I could then take with me onto the site. (At this point: not recommended!! because all my fresh change of clothes and everything else in my backpack after this festival was covered in colorful powder dust, because it simply seeped through every pore.) Finally, we arrived at the festival site in 2023, and we could hardly believe it was two years after buying the tickets. We were immediately disappointed at the entrance: these premium packages are no longer available; we only get admission and five bags of paint. We then asked for someone in charge. After waiting 20 minutes near the entrance, a friendly young lady came over and listened to our problem. Then we had to consult with someone else. 20 minutes later, she came back to us and said they didn't know about the premium package, and she had checked that Eventim doesn't sell Holi tickets at all. There's nothing she can do about it now. If we have any other proof of entitlement, other than the paper ticket we brought with us, we can come back to her. The beer tent at the fair is very good, and the service is fast. I wouldn't recommend eating chicken at lunchtime. But once the grills are running at full blast in the afternoon, everything is great!
