Volksfest Freising | Program & Table Reservation

The Volksfest Freising is one of the most significant festivals of the cathedral city and connects tradition, sociability, music, and fun rides in the Luitpoldanlage year after year. For 2026, the city of Freising has already confirmed the period from September 4 to 13 and introduced the new festival host duo Holger Nagl and Jürgen Hanetzok. At the same time, the official beer festival overview points to the public beer tasting on August 20, which marks the start of the Freising beer year in its hot phase. Those preparing for the Volksfest usually look for exactly the topics that are central here: program, table reservation, festival host, menu, directions, parking, opening hours, photos, and surroundings. This page brings these points together in a clear, practical, and search-friendly structure. The major dates of the event, the connection to the breweries Weihenstephan and Hofbrauhaus, and the location in the heart of Freising make the Volksfest a fixed date in the city's annual calendar. Program, Dates, and Volksfest 2026

The most important dates are the first anchor point for many visitors: The Freising Volksfest 2026 will take place from September 4 to 13 in the Luitpoldanlage. The city has also confirmed that the Volksfest will be celebrated for the 95th time this year. This number shows how deeply rooted the festival is in Freising and how naturally it belongs to the cultural self-understanding of the city. Additionally, there is the public beer tasting on August 20 at Marienplatz, which traditionally heats up the anticipation and marks the starting signal for the Volksfest season. It is particularly important for planners that the official information is published in a timely manner on the Volksfest page when the program fills with all details. ([freising.de](https://www.freising.de/rathaus/aktuelles/details/neue-festwirte-vorgestellt))

Even though the complete program details for 2026 will be released gradually, the official review of the Volksfest 2025 clearly shows which program components typically characterize the Freising Volksfest. Back then, the festival day began with a traditional parade: The city band played at the war memorial before the parade moved from the city center towards the Luitpoldanlage. Subsequently, the official tapping took place in the festival tent. This sequence of music, parade, and tapping shapes the character of the Volksfest and makes the first festival day the most important date for many visitors. Those experiencing the Volksfest for the first time not only get beer and rides but also a very consciously staged piece of Freising customs. ([freising.de](https://www.freising.de/kultur-freizeit/volksfest-2023))

The 2025 program overview also shows that the Volksfest is much more than just an evening in the beer tent. Among other things, it mentions a stand concert at Marienplatz, a senior afternoon, an ecumenical service, a children's fun day, the Volksfest run, the Volksfest shooting, a government football tournament, and the traditional cycling race to conclude. This mix of culinary delights, music, family offerings, and sports formats makes it clear why the Volksfest in Freising appeals to so many target groups. For guests, this is helpful because they can plan the festival not just as a single evening but as a multi-day experience. Those traveling with family, friends, or clubs will almost always find a suitable program point. ([freising.de](https://www.freising.de/kultur-freizeit/volksfest-2023))

For the search for the program, the official information channels are also relevant. The city refers to the program booklet as the central document, and during the festival, current information and reviews will be published on the Volksfest page. Additionally, the city names the Facebook page of the Volksfest as a public platform with photos, video clips, and news from the ongoing operation. This is especially practical for visitors who decide shortly before when they want to come or which program points they do not want to miss. From an SEO perspective, these search intentions are important because users often expect very specific answers when searching for program, photos, and current information. Table Reservation, Festival Host, and Menu

A central theme in the search queries surrounding the Volksfest Freising is table reservation. For 2026, the city has introduced a new festival host duo, Holger Nagl and Jürgen Hanetzok, who will take over the gastronomic management. The two bring experience as they operate several Volksfests a year, according to the city, and they are focusing on a high-quality festival tent with solid wood, red-white design, a two-story bar, and a family area in the back part of the Luitpoldanlage. This is important because it changes the atmosphere and use of the tent: The festival tent remains a meeting point for young and old, but at the same time, it receives a visibly modern face. ([freising.de](https://www.freising.de/rathaus/aktuelles/details/neue-festwirte-vorgestellt))

There are also clear indications from the official communication regarding the menu. The new festival hosts announce traditional tavern classics, vegan dishes, and discounted lunch offers. Additionally, the Weissbier carousel will be available again, which is a familiar term for many regular guests and underscores the connection between festival tent, brewing culture, and Bavarian culinary culture. In the Freising reviews, chicken and roast pork were also mentioned as tried-and-true classics for the festival tent. For visitors, this mix is particularly attractive: It is not just about having the largest selection possible, but about a coherent, regionally influenced offer that fits the character of the Volksfest and appeals to both families and evening guests. ([freising.de](https://www.freising.de/rathaus/aktuelles/details/neue-festwirte-vorgestellt))

In terms of reservation, the information situation is twofold: For the Volksfest 2025, table reservations could be made online via ticket shop or by phone at 0176/12344455 with the festival host family Mörz. For 2026, the city has already published the new festival hosts and the date, but the exact reservation methods have not yet been fully detailed on the new event page. For this reason, volksfest.freising.de is the right place to check for current information as soon as it is released. Those planning early should therefore keep an eye on the official channels and not rely on unofficial sources. ([freising.de](https://www.freising.de/kultur-freizeit/volksfest-2023))

For the search intention for festival host, it is also relevant that the breweries Weihenstephan and Hofbrauhaus share the serving tradition at the Volksfest, according to the city. This makes the Freising Volksfest particularly special from a local perspective, as gastronomy and brewing culture are closely intertwined here. The city also mentions a three-year contract term for the new festival hosts, which speaks for continuity and reliability in gastronomic planning. So, those searching for Volksfest Freising festival host, reservation, or menu are usually interested not only in a table but in the overall package of tent, service, food, beer, and atmosphere. This connection of quality and tradition is one of the strongest reasons for the high demand. ([freising.de](https://www.freising.de/rathaus/aktuelles/details/neue-festwirte-vorgestellt))

Directions, Parking, and Opening Hours

The directions to the Volksfest Freising is an important topic because the Luitpoldanlage is centrally located and heavily frequented on festival days. The city's official parking page states that there are 250 free parking spaces at the Luitpoldanlage, but also points out that there is no parking available there during the Volksfest. Those coming by car should therefore use the surrounding parking spaces and parking garages. Among others, the Luitpoldstraße with 200 parking spaces, the Park & Ride at the train station with 700 parking spaces, and several parking garages in the city center are mentioned. For visitors, this means: Plan early, pay attention to signage, and better not rely on spontaneous parking searches directly at the festival site. ([freising.de](https://www.freising.de/leben-wohnen/mobilitaet-verkehrswende/parkplatzangebot))

Especially relevant for the search parking are the parking garages near the city center. The city mentions the parking garage Am Wörth with 300 parking spaces, the Altstadt parking garage with 800 parking spaces, and the Untere Altstadt parking garage with 203 parking spaces. This offer is complemented by several other paid large parking areas in the city. So, those arriving in the vicinity of the Volksfest have several alternatives but must expect the usual rules and maximum parking durations. For groups or families, it may make sense to decide before departure whether to opt for a city-center solution or to relieve themselves via Park & Ride. This reduces stress and makes the way to the festival easier. ([freising.de](https://www.freising.de/leben-wohnen/mobilitaet-verkehrswende/parkplatzangebot))

In many cases, the most convenient way is to arrive by public transport. The city of Freising recommends using bus lines 621, 622, and 631 from the train station to the Sonnenstraße stop; from there, it is just a short walk to the festival site. The traffic notice during the Volksfest emphasizes that the return trip with the night bus is ensured throughout the entire festival period. Another official Freising page states that the walking time from the train station to the festival grounds is only seven minutes. Thus, the Volksfest is also very well accessible for guests without a car. ([freising.de](https://www.freising.de/rathaus/aktuelles/details/mit-dem-bus-zum-volksfest?utm_source=openai))

The opening hours are also a search topic for many visitors. In the Volksfest preview 2025, the festival tent was open daily from 11:00 AM to 12:00 AM, the amusement park from 12:00 PM to 12:00 AM, and the beer serving in the large festival tent ended at 11:30 PM. The stalls were open from 11:30 AM to 1:00 AM. These times are helpful as a guideline, even if the current details for 2026 may be published separately on the official page. Therefore, those planning a visit should always check the current program and information page. Especially at Volksfests, individual times change depending on the day of the week, framework program, and festival operation. ([freising.de](https://www.freising.de/kultur-freizeit/volksfest-2023))

Rides, Wine Hall, and Surroundings

Those searching for rides and Volksfest Freising 2025 usually want to know how large and diverse the offerings at the festival site are. The official reports speak of around 60 vendors who provide culinary variety, entertainment, and fun rides. In addition, there are numerous snack stands and classic attractions that shape the festival grounds beyond just the tent atmosphere. For families, couples, and groups, this is important because the Volksfest is not limited to a single area. The path across the festival site is part of the experience, and this creates the typical mix of fair, meeting point, and food mile. ([freising.de](https://www.freising.de/kultur-freizeit/volksfest-2023))

Another fixed component is the wine hall, which is explicitly mentioned in the official reviews. There, the team looks forward to many party guests on weekends, and the senior afternoon was also combined with dancing, coffee, and cake in the wine hall in 2025. This shows that the Volksfest does not only rely on mass and chicken but offers several places to stay with different atmospheres. The new festival tent planning for 2026 further complements this principle, as a two-story bar and a dedicated family area are planned alongside the beer garden. So, those searching for surroundings and special highlights will find not just a festival tent but a small ensemble of different experience zones. ([freising.de](https://www.freising.de/kultur-freizeit/volksfest-2023))

The surroundings of the Volksfest are closely connected to the city center. The traditional parade starts at Marienplatz or in the city center and leads towards the Luitpoldanlage. The official reports also highlight the stand concert at Marienplatz, which brings the festival character into the city center. Thus, the Volksfest is not isolated on the outskirts of the city but is intertwined with the center of Freising. Those arriving during the day can combine their visit to the city with the Volksfest, and those coming in the evening primarily take in the lively festival atmosphere. This spatial proximity is an essential part of the appeal and explains why the search query surroundings keeps coming up. ([freising.de](https://www.freising.de/kultur-freizeit/volksfest-2023))

The context of the Freising beer year also contributes to the special atmosphere. The official beer festival overview describes the Volksfest as the highlight of the September program and places it after the Day of Beer, the Old Town Festival, and the Weihenstephaner Bergfest. Thus, the Volksfest stands not only as a standalone event but as the crowning conclusion of a whole series of festivals around brewing culture and city life. This embedding makes the event interesting for locals and guests alike: It is about tradition, regional identity, and an experience that has been established over many years. For the keyword search for volksfest freising surroundings, rides, or program, this is a strong content foundation. ([tourismus.freising.de](https://tourismus.freising.de/en/sights/brewing-culture/beer-festival-calendar))

Photos, Updates, and Practical Tips

Those searching for photos usually want to see quick impressions in advance or refresh memories afterward at the Volksfest Freising. The city offers the official Facebook page of the Volksfest for this purpose and states that during the festival, up-to-date news, many photos, and video clips will be posted there. The Volksfest review also points out that the page can be viewed without registration. This is particularly practical for visitors because it contains mood images, tent impressions, and impressions from the festival parade. For SEO, this is a clear advantage because searchers looking for photos or impressions often want not just a picture but an authentic impression of the overall character of the event. ([freising.de](https://www.freising.de/kultur-freizeit/volksfest-2023))

Practical tips begin with orientation on the official website. The city announces that all information regarding the Volksfest will be published in a timely manner on volksfest.freising.de. There, the program, information about the parade, the festival host situation, and other organizational questions are traditionally published. The tourist information also refers to Freising as a city where numerous other offers are available during the Volksfest period. This is useful for visitors who want to make more of the Volksfest than just an evening in the tent. Those arriving during the day can combine their festival visit with a walk through the city center, a museum visit, or a guided tour, thus extending their stay in Freising meaningfully. ([freising.de](https://www.freising.de/rathaus/aktuelles/details/neue-festwirte-vorgestellt))

For concrete daily planning, the opening hours from the most recent official review serve as a guideline. The festival tent opened daily from 11:00 AM to 12:00 AM in 2025, the amusement park from 12:00 PM to 12:00 AM, and the beer serving ended at 11:30 PM. The stalls were open from 11:30 AM to 1:00 AM. Especially when traveling with family or in a larger group, it is worthwhile to take a look at this structure: lunch, afternoon visit with rides, or a late evening in the tent each have their own charm. Visitors who prefer a quieter experience tend to come earlier; those seeking music and party atmosphere stay longer. This logic is typical for many Volksfests and is particularly well-balanced in Freising. ([freising.de](https://www.freising.de/kultur-freizeit/volksfest-2023))

In the end, the Volksfest Freising is so search-strong precisely because it covers multiple needs simultaneously: program, table reservation, festival host, menu, directions, parking, opening hours, and photos. The city provides official information that is important for planning before the visit as well as for orientation on-site. Those who inform themselves in a timely manner experience a traditional city festival with a clear structure, good access, and high recognition value. And because the event is closely linked to the Luitpoldanlage, the Freising breweries, and the city center, the Volksfest remains not just a date in the calendar but a fixed part of the Freising way of life. Such a happy and lively event! There were plenty of food spots, a great atmosphere with amazing people, and a wide variety of stands—from food and alcohol to classic festival games. A highlight was the big tent featuring great shows with local bands, traditional dances, food, and songs, making the experience even more authentic. The place was big and had so much to explore. While the prices for everything (except alcohol) were quite high, I still highly recommend going and experiencing it.

Yummy currywurst and great cold beer. I like how so many people dress up as well.

Amazing atmosphere, good food and happy people everywhere! Spent almost 5 hours there enjoying the rides, food and the beer tent. The beer is nice and the atmosphere is even better with the live traditional songs, everyone in their dirndls and lederhosen singing and dancing. Absolutely loved it!

What a great event. Local community festival like it should be. Make every effort to find this festival next time. You will not be disappointed.

Nice festival with fireworks. I did not like the fact that it is very noisy in the main tent and also the festival beer is a bit overpriced and not the best tasting one in my opinion. I prefer the normal beer the breweries make, and there are very good local beers in Freising.
