Welcome to what I gather is Freising's oldest restaurant! This is exactly what a German brewery should be like - cosy, rustic, with large wooden tables and lots of nicknacks and fun decor, including paintings dedicated to king Ludwig II. of Bavaria. The menu offers all you'd want to have, starting with Weißwurst and Obazda, moving on to roasts, schnitzel and other meaty offerings and ending with strudel or pancakes. What made it especially great for me was the wide variety of vegetarian-friendly dishes, which is something I found very refreshing. Other German restaurants in Bavaria weren't as accommodating in this regard and I highly appreciated it, because the Maultaschen were practically faultless. It's a must to come here whenever you're visiting Freising!

We went there for a special menu on Wednesday, a burger and fries with refill for 9.99 euros. It was really worthy, the meat was really meat😂 and tasty. Service was ok and normal. The only point that was a little bit unpleasant was the odor in the atmosphere.

I hardly post negative reviews, but this was necessary. I have been to this restaurant now 3 times in the last 5 years and reviewed it at least once giving them a 5 star. This was the third worst meal of my life and I've been all over the World for the last 35 years. Service was nice and attentive until they asked me how my meal was and I told him it was unedible. I asked him to bring some fries and they were cold, fast food fries at best. Whatever they served me was recommended by the waiter and it came out within 45 seconds of me ordering it. It was dry and salty. He asked me, how did you like it? I politely said that it wasn't good at all and he took the plate away. I only had 1 bite of each, except for the sauerkraut which was good. There are so many options in Freising and this has gone downhill I think. They should have taken some of the charges off the ticket for the dry salty pork thing with the 2 balls of non edible food matter soaked in the salt brown lake water, but they didn't even bother to offer a discount. They knew that it was bad, but they just didn't care. Not returning here.
