SK8 or BITE: When skateboarding meets generative AI
On Sunday, November 22, 2026, Alexis Dworsky connects skateboarding, video culture, and generative artificial intelligence at the youth center Tollhaus and the Schafhof – European Art Forum Upper Bavaria. Admission is free, and no registration is required.
Skateboard, VHS aesthetic, and digital experiments
The event day starts from 11 am to 1 pm in the skate hall Actionhall of the youth center Tollhaus. There, old VHS skate videos, joint skateboarding, and a workshop on generative AI are on the agenda. Participants will learn how digital fakes are created and how to recognize manipulated content. Fries provide a fitting break amidst the skate atmosphere.
From Tollhaus to Schafhof
A shuttle bus connects the Tollhaus with the Schafhof. Starting at 2 pm, Alexis Dworsky's multi-part AI-based video work Sk8 or Byte! will take center stage there. The presentation bridges the physical energy of the skate park and the visual world of digital image production.
Artist talk about skateboarding and AI
The subsequent artist talk will focus on the role of skateboarding in the context of art and the question of how generative AI changes perception, movement, and visual language. Stadium atmosphere, fan chants, and field tension give way to an open workshop and discussion situation where athletic experience and media analysis meet.
Alexis Dworsky: Between physical and digital space
Alexis Dworsky is an artist and professor of Media Design at the Art University of Linz. His works connect physical experiences with digital spaces. In Freising, he continues this perspective in a project that intertwines skate culture, video aesthetics, and artificial image worlds.
Conclusion
SK8 or BITE offers an unusual event day between skate hall, workshop, video art, and artist talk. Those who want to experience how skateboard culture and generative AI reflect each other will find a free and diverse program in Freising on November 22, 2026.
